Brooks Hill

From Brooks Hill

Gordon's three brigades moved across the river and deployed near the Worthington house, off the picture to the left on lower ground.  Gordon deployed and advanced, with the center and right brigades, York and Evans, moving across Brooks Hill, from left to right of the picture.  Having crossed the hill, Gordon's line roughly paralleled the modern interstate, which you can see as the marked line of trees, with their right near the Baker Valley Road.  Ricketts' division had redeployed to the Thomas farm in order to face the Confederate attack.

Baker Farm

This is the view of Brooks Hill from the Baker Valley Farm near Worthington trail visitor parking.  The Baker farm is prominent in the center of the picture.  The Confederates had swept across the right portion of Brooks Hill and were in line parallel to the modern gravel road on the far right, which runs along the modern interstate toward Worthington.
